Buon Giorno - Good morning or Buona Sera if you are reading later than 2pm!!
We are happily ensconsed in Villa Campo Verde in Eggi ( not eggy like eggs but edgi like on the edge ) - our piece of Umbria just so delivers to everyones expectations. The church full of beautiful frescoes is from the 21st Century and this morning we caught the local bus to Spoletto and explored the alleys and winding little streets up to the Roman aquaduct and the Castille on top of the hill ( thamkgoodness for the cortizone injection into Jo's kneee before leaving ). Wonderful Vistas and we kept thinking we were in a film set. Home after coffee - we are now in the 'NO you never drink cappuchino or milky coffees after 11am'. Back to the villa for a quick refresh, some had swims ( about 26 degrees ). Now it's Tortillini production to serve with REAL Tarfullo - truffle!!! Smells divine with garlic & lemon zest. Everyone is loving the cooking and language lessons and after a few glasses of vino we are all so fluent. See a big opportunity to sell microplanes to Italy - their lemon zesters are rubbisho!!
Our first night ( last night ) we tested lots of local Umbrian Blanco & Rosso Vino as we made traditional Italian Pizza with our Italian Mamma & her daughter Simone then sat around our large table to eat it all, our travel group & hosts who are now great friends!!!
Ciao for not my friends - wish you were here. P.S. Ciao means I am your slave for life!!!!! xxxxx baci baci
